My Toyota that I don't like to talk about here has some issues. Namely, if you take your foot off the gas it will just die. No matter how high I turn the idle speed screw. It's a 1982 Toyota Tercel, and someone told me the carb is busted. What I figured out today is that every time it rains, the thing works awesome. What does this mean?

Thanks in advance for guessing at something I haven't told you much about.

Diaphragm is most likely busted.

*grumbles and trundles off to Google to find this "diaphragm" that was spoken of*

Edit: Looks close to the top, easy to check?

yeah on those. Old school Sentra and the 20R on the Toyota truck use to come in a bunch when I worked at this gas station service center in high school. They would run that way also. I'm sure it comes in some type of service kit. We'd just order those and do a rebuild, not too bad or expensive. They were like $100 at a local import parts store

I can get a rebuild kit, but I don't know crap about carburetors. I was going to try it anyway, what am I going to lose? What am I going to break in the process?
